If your child needs to leave school early, please sign them out at the office prior to picking them up from the classroom.

School Hours

Nov. 8- No school - Election Day

Nov. 9- Field trip to the U of M Museum of Natural History

Nov. 23- Thanksgiving break begins

Math home links will be sent home Monday through Thursday. Please supervise your child as he/she completes this homework and return it in the folder the following day. Also, please have your student read for at least 20 minutes Monday-Friday and once over the weekend.

On Fridays, students will be bringing home their family response journal. Please take the time to read your student's letter and respond. The journal needs to be returned by the following Friday.

Daily Folders

This folder will be one of the links between school and home. The Daily Folder will contain completed work and all homework. It should be returned to school every day. Inside, you will find a paper that says, “Messages”. This is a paper that I would like you to check every evening and I will read every morning. I will make comments inside the folder as necessary and I would like to encourage you do to the same.

Our Second Grade News is another way to keep you informed with what's going on in our classroom. Newsletters will be published every two weeks and sent to you through email.

Snack time is just a quick break in the middle of the afternoon. Please send fruits and vegetables only. These are safe and healthy choices and the students really seem to enjoy them. Even if your student is not bringing a lunch, please try to remember to send a snack. Our lunch is early this year and students often get hungry in the afternoon. Please send correct sized portions.  Also know that if your student forgets a snack, I will always have something for him/her to have.
